Reisjunk
Reisjunk, one of the best-known online travel platforms in the Netherlands, has joined Kompas Publishing. By joining forces, both parties aim to accelerate the platform’s growth and further expand its reach.
Strong position as a leading travel platform
Reisjunk was founded by Greg Gerrits and Irene de Krijger, two passionate travellers with a particular interest in adventurous destinations. Since 2014, they have been building a platform that brings together their personal travel experiences, practical tips and inspiring destinations for a broad audience of independent travellers.
Over the years, Reisjunk has developed a strong brand identity and a loyal community, growing into a market leader among Dutch travel blogs. At the same time, the founders see significant untapped potential. To realise the next phase of growth, they deliberately sought a strategic partner that could contribute additional expertise, professionalisation and scale.
Strategic partnership with Kompas Publishing to accelerate growth
Kompas Publishing is a leading PubTech media company that supports Dutch consumers with inspiring content and practical tools for everyday life. Through a strong portfolio of brands and platforms, including Datumprikker, Kek Mama, Startpagina and MAN MAN, Kompas Publishing reaches audiences across multiple generations.
For Reisjunk, joining Kompas Publishing provides access to additional expertise and scale. The focus will be on accelerating growth, including by expanding the range of destinations covered and further developing the platform’s technology.
Greg and Irene will both remain involved with Reisjunk in an advisory capacity, ensuring continuity of the brand and its content.
