Megakids

Megakids

Megakids, a specialist provider of guidance and short-term treatment programmes for young people and young adults with autism, has been acquired by Frelius. The transaction safeguards the continuity of the organisation and creates room for further development, while preserving its vision and way of working.

Specialist healthcare provider with a strong regional position

Megakids has been active in the Haarlem region for more than 15 years and has developed into a leading healthcare provider for young people and young adults with autism. The organisation supports its clients in becoming as independent as possible and participating fully in society, based on the view that autism represents a different way of processing information.

Under the leadership of Marlot Bouwens and Mirjam Plantinga, Megakids has grown into a strong and committed organisation with a clear social role in the region. Following an intensive period as entrepreneurs, they decided to pursue other ambitions, with a careful transfer of the organisation as a key priority.

Experienced entrepreneurs with a passion for healthcare

In Frelius, represented by Arno Walter and Eefje Verdonk, a suitable buyer was found. Both have extensive experience in managing healthcare organisations and previously successfully operated a midwifery practice.

The acquisition fits with their ambition to once again lead a healthcare organisation with meaningful social impact. Their focus is on continuing the existing organisation and gradually developing it further, while maintaining its quality and personal approach.
