Strategic internet agency Betawerk joins Indicia

Betawerk, specialized in digital projects using Drupal technology and based at the Brightlands Smart Services Campus in Heerlen, is joining Indicia, the fast-growing tech, data, and AI network backed by investment company Capital A. With this move, Betawerk becomes part of a leading digital network driven by strategy, creativity, and technology.

Expertise in Drupal

Founded by brothers Martijn and Ivo Hermans, Betawerk has grown into an award-winning partner for complex digital challenges in government, healthcare, education, and science as a specialist in Drupal technology. Indicia, with more than 200 digital professionals across the Netherlands, brings scale, tools, and international experience. Together, they form a unique full-service agency for both public and private clients.

Carlo Korssen, CEO of Indicia:
“The technological match is clear: both agencies have a strong Drupal proposition, work on innovative projects, and have years of experience serving the public and private domains. With Indicia’s AI Lab, we bring new technical strength to Betawerk’s projects.”

Accelerating innovation

By working together, Betawerk and Indicia accelerate innovation and share specialized knowledge while both strengthen their market positions. Martijn and Ivo Hermans will remain actively involved with Betawerk to realize further growth together.

“The digital world is changing rapidly. As an independent agency, we increasingly faced choices: do we continue to do everything ourselves, or do we find a strong partner to grow together? Indicia perfectly matches our vision, culture, and ambition,” says Martijn Hermans, CEO and founder of Betawerk.

“For us, it’s about what we can offer our clients and colleagues. By joining Indicia, we increase our capabilities, gain access to more specialized knowledge, and can innovate faster,” adds Ivo Hermans, COO and founder.

Role of Match Plan

Match Plan guided Betawerk throughout the sales process—from negotiations to due diligence and contract documentation. The deal team, consisting of Yvo Bruin, Rens Knevels, Mark van Brecht, Matthias Duijzer, and Tim Struijs, was closely involved in every phase of the transaction.”

It was inspiring to guide this process in the south of the Netherlands, where shared culture and open communication were continuously at the forefront. We would like to congratulate Betawerk and Indicia on this new step and wish them every success in the future. Yvo Bruin, Senior Consultant at Match Plan
