Cognos Netherlands Expands to Open Third Office in Utrecht’s Muntgebouw

Cognos’ Dutch Partner Match Plan Corporate Finance is opening a new third prestigious office in Utrecht this month, located in the iconic Muntgebouw. With this move, the Cognos global M&A advisory network takes another step in its strong growth in this region.

The new Utrecht office will be based in the Muntgebouw at Muntkade 1B. The monumental building, just a stone’s throw from the city center, and is best known as the place where the Royal Dutch Mint produced Dutch coinage for many decades.

Utrecht will become the firm’s third location, alongside The Hague and Tilburg offices.

With the new office in Utrecht, Cognos Partner Match Plan is expanding its presence in the central Netherlands.

Match Plan advises entrepreneurs in the mid-sized and upper mid-sized SME segment on the purchase and sale of businesses internationally, and also provides advice on valuations, financing, and dispute situations. The company is led by partners Hans van de Pas and Erik Smidt.

A logical next step

“Utrecht is a logical next step for us,” says Hans. “The region has a high concentration of entrepreneurial activity and forms an important economic hub. With our office here, we can support entrepreneurs even better and in a more personal way.”

The new office will be led by Leon Koorevaar. Since joining in 2021, he has advised on several transactions, including the buy-and-build strategy of Indicia and the sale of Reedijk Wheels and Tyres to the Italian firm GMP/Eulero Capital. With his move to Utrecht, Niels Ansems, Director M&A, will take over leadership of the Tilburg office.

“The Muntgebouw has symbolised value creation for more than 100 years. That makes it a particularly fitting location for us,” says Leon. “I look forward to supporting entrepreneurs here with the team and further developing the Utrecht office.”
