ANS acquires Makutu to accelerate Data and AI innovation
Cognos advises Makutu, a consultancy specialising in data engineering, advanced AI services, and IoT solutions on their disposal to digital transformation leader ANS.
Founded in 2020, Makutu has deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric readiness, OneLake migration, predictive analytics and real-time IoT platforms. Its proven track record, spanning local government, housing, utilities and retail, amongst other sectors, complements ANS’s work helping public and private sector organisations modernise their data estates and unlock the value of AI.
Makutu’s Microsoft-first mindset aligns with ANS’s long-standing strategic partnership with Microsoft, further cementing its reputation as a partner of excellence across the full Microsoft ecosystem. The deal, supported financially by Inflexion and Barings, brings Makutu’s 25-strong team of data architects, engineers and AI specialists into ANS, expanding its ability to design and deliver enterprise-grade data platforms that provide the foundation for safe and impactful AI adoption.
The HMT team, acted as sell-side lead advisor on the transaction which included negotiating detailed terms, supporting the business through an extensive due diligence process and project managing the deal to a successful completion.
