Match Plan Advises Karmijn Kapitaal on Financing for Majority Investment in UniKidz

Match Plan, the Netherlands based arm of Cognos Global Partners has advised Amsterdam-based investment firm Karmijn Kapitaal on securing acquisition financing to support its majority investment in UniKidz, a Dutch childcare provider focused on helping children and young people develop their talents through education, sport and creative activities.

The transaction provides Karmijn Kapitaal with the financing required to complete its investment in UniKidz, supporting the company’s continued growth and expansion within the Dutch childcare sector.

Founded in Amsterdam, Karmijn Kapitaal invests in established Dutch businesses across a diverse range of sectors, typically targeting companies with annual revenues of at least €5 million. The firm’s portfolio currently comprises 13 investments spanning industries including personal care products, brewing, environmental and biogas storage solutions, and online auction platforms.

Established in 2009, UniKidz has grown into one of the Netherlands’ leading childcare organisations, operating 28 locations within a 40-kilometre radius of Amsterdam. The company provides more than 800 childcare places and over 5,000 after-school childcare places, employing approximately 140 people.

Through its five specialist brands: FitKidz, MindKidz, SkillsKidz, SoulKidz and Educational Support, UniKidz offers a broad range of programmes designed to foster children’s physical, intellectual, creative and personal development. Its Scoolz programme further extends educational support to young people aged 10 to 18.

Match Plan advised Karmijn Kapitaal throughout the financing process, including the preparation of the financing memorandum, the design of the financing structure, engagement with financing providers and the review of transaction documentation.
