Cognos / Societex helps EFINOR selling all its energy and defense activities to FRAMATOME
Framatome announces the acquisition of the EFINOR group’s subsidiaries operating in the nuclear power and naval defense sectors in France and the UK. This operation allows Framatome to increase its skills in welding and qualified welding standards, while strengthening its position in component manufacturing and in high value-added services for its customers.
“This acquisition strengthens our ability to provide safe, high-quality solutions for existing and new nuclear power plant construction projects,” said Bernard Fontana, CEO of Framatome.
Framatome will benefit not only from the technical and industrial expertise of EFINOR’s Energy and Defense teams, but also from its existing relationships with local customers and partners in France and the UK. Following the recent integration of the BHR Group, this new acquisition, which includes facilities in the UK, confirms Framatome’s commitment and position as a major partner in the UK nuclear program.
From engineering to the installation of manufactured components on site, EFINOR’s Energy and Defense Division is involved in a wide range of projects such as new nuclear reactor construction programs, the naval defense industry and other industrial applications.
Framatome is an international leader in nuclear energy, recognized for its high value-added technologies for the world’s nuclear fleet. The company designs, maintains and installs components and fuels as well as control systems for nuclear power plants. Framatome is owned by the EDF Group (75.5%), Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI – 19.5%) and Assystem (5%).
