Cognos accompanies the sale of Alfer aluminium to SOL Capital

SOL Capital Management GmbH, an Austrian financial investor, acquires alfer aluminium Gesellschaft mbH based in Wutöschingen. The acquisition process was accompanied by Wintergerst Societät für Unternehmer-Beratung from its inception right through to completion.

alfer aluminium is a leading European manufacturer of profiles, bars and systems made of aluminium, steel, brass and plastic. The company, based in Wutöschingen-Hörheim (in the State of Baden-Württemberg), has its profiles listed in almost every DIY market. As a result, alfer aluminium, which was founded in 1973, is one of Europe’s specialists for aluminium profiles, employing roughly 300 staff.

SOL Capital Management GmbH, based in Vienna, helps companies resolve succession issues, carry out restructuring plans and generate sustainable growth. The management team, which operates in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, is noted for its considerable talent at adapting available resources, its extensive transaction experience and the management expertise of its partners.

Having submitted the most compelling offer, SOL Capital managed to prevail over the competition in the course of an international bidding process. According to the terms of the insolvency plan, which became legally effective last week, the location in Wutöschingen will be retained. With alfer, SOL Capital has acquired a brand that is a permanent item in the product range of many DIY markets. This constitutes an excellent point of departure for restoring the operation to its old strengths.
